Nearia

The daily word game you play on Discord.

One secret word a day, the same for everyone. Every guess gets a number for how closely it relates to the answer - the lower, the closer.

Free to play on desktop, web and mobile

How close are you?

Type any word and it comes back with a rank: where it stands among tens of thousands of words, ordered by how closely each one relates to the secret word. Every guess tells you which way to go.

  • 1the word
  • 2-300very close
  • 301-1,500related
  • 1,501+cold
Example game5 guesses
  1. firerank 7,725
  2. starrank 450
  3. telescoperank 51
  4. galaxyrank 9
  5. nebularank 1
An example, not a real day. Ranks measure how closely words are connected, not how they are spelled - rank 1 is the word.

How it works

  1. Open it in Discord

Start Nearia from the Activities button in a server, a DM or a group chat. Nothing to download, and no account beyond your Discord one.

  2. Make the connection

Every word you try gets a rank for how closely it relates to the secret word. Rank 1 is the word itself; tens of thousands means you are nowhere near. Fewest guesses wins the day.

  3. Play with your server

The channel gets a live board of who is playing, and everyone's results the next day. Multiplayer rounds race the whole server to one word: whoever starts a round pays in gems, and everyone plays it free.

Questions

Anything else, write to support@nearia.app.

Is Nearia free?

Yes. The daily word is free to play every day, and always will be. Gems buy extras - cosmetics, streak freezes, past days, practice words and multiplayer rounds - and you earn a few by solving. A hint costs gems too, and it takes that board out of the day's standings, so nothing you can buy wins a day.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Nearia is a Discord Activity, so it runs inside Discord on desktop, in the browser and on your phone. There is nothing to install and no account to make beyond the Discord one you already have.

How is it different from Wordle?

Wordle is about letters; Nearia is about connections. Spelling counts for nothing: in the example above, galaxy ranks 9 against nebula because the two turn up in the same sentences, not because they look alike. It is association rather than dictionary meaning, which is why a word's opposite is often one of its closest guesses. And there is no six-guess limit: you keep going until you find it.

Does everyone get the same word?

Yes. There is one daily word for the whole world, and it changes at midnight UTC. Your board follows you from server to server. Multiplayer rounds use a separate word, so a shared board never gives the daily away.
